The short version: We don't read your emails, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you with ads. Your email stays yours.

When you use Cascade Mail, we collect only what's necessary to provide the service:
- Account credentials: Your email address and password for your Cascade Mail account
- Email server credentials: IMAP/SMTP server details and passwords for connecting to your email providers (stored encrypted)
- Usage data: Basic logs for troubleshooting (IP addresses, login times, error messages)
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not read, scan, or analyze the content of your emails
- We do not store copies of your emails on our servers (they remain on your email provider's servers)
- We do not use tracking pixels or advertising cookies
- We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to:
- Authenticate you to the Cascade Mail service
- Connect to your email providers on your behalf
- Improve service reliability and fix bugs
- Send important service announcements (rarely)
Data Security
We take security seriously:
- All email server passwords are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption
- All connections use TLS/SSL encryption
- We use secure password hashing (Argon2id) for account passwords
- Access to production systems is strictly limited
Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your data within 30 days. Usage logs are automatically purged after 90 days.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your account information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your account settings
Third-Party Services
Cascade Mail connects to your email providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) using standard IMAP and SMTP protocols. Your relationship with those providers is governed by their respective privacy policies. We only access your email servers when you're actively using Cascade Mail.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
